How to choose the right crystals

What are crystals? Are they living beings?

Crystals have been formed deep beneath the Earth's surface millions of years ago. When molten lava from erupting volcanoes was thrown out, it combined with various minerals and cooled down to crystalize and form many crystals as we know them today. Many others were formed by the natural evolution of the earth’s minerals. Crystals differ from rocks based on their atomic structure. The atoms in crystals are all in the same direction, placed in a repeated pattern. In a rock, the atoms are placed together randomly and there is no pattern.

It is believed by some that Crystals are the first form of life on earth, even before the plant kingdom came into being. In the words of Nikolai Tesla, a world-renowned scientist, engineer and inventor “In a crystal, we have clear evidence of the existence of a formative life principle and though we cannot understand the life of the crystal, it is nonetheless a living being.”

Crystals are everywhere around us. We find them in the form of salt, used in watches and computers or snowflakes and precious and semi-precious gemstones. They are used in electronic devices, are used in jewelry and are a part of our homes for construction and in the form of decor. Crystals can be considered gemstones based on how rare they are. The rarest ones are considered precious gemstones like the Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Crystals that are easily accessible are known as semi-precious stones. Amethyst, Rose Quartz and Clear Quartz are some semi-precious stones.

How do crystals work?

Crystals vibrate at a certain frequency and can change the vibration of the person using the crystal. The vibration changes as the energy blocks are healed or removed from the aura of a space or person. When the vibration is changed, we call it “healing’. The frequency at which a crystal vibrates is unique to each type of crystal.

How to use crystals?

Crystals can be used in various ways, but here I am going to talk about how we can use them as a healing tool. Our aura is made up of various vertices or chakras, and most of us are aware of the seven main chakras in our body When our chakras are moving in the correct direction and are not blocked, but open, we are in an emotionally, physically and mentally healthy state. For most of us, its’s difficult to be in this perfect state for long periods, as our emotions trigger and affect the chakras constantly. Crystals can help bring balance to the chakra which needs the healing. To use the crystals for healing, place them on the chakra which needs healing or balance. There are specific crystals which work for each chakra, which will be explained in the following blog next week. You can just hold the crystal in your hand while meditating and intend that the crystal should heal the area of concern.

Wearing crystal jewellry is another way of using crystals to heal. Crystal bracelets are a huge favourite for women as well as men.

If you are not a jewellry person and wish to still use crystals, placing them in your pocket as you go about your day-to-day routine is one option. Another is placing the crystals on your bedside or even under your pillow. The crystals will silently work energetically on your energy body as you sleep.

How to choose the right crystals?

The thumb rule for choosing a crystal is simple – go for what attracts you at first glance. If you have some exposure to crystals, you will even feel them call out to you energetically. Our body is attracted to what we need.

Using a pendulum dowser is another way to choose the right crystal for you, provided you are aware of how to use the pendulum.

If you feel you are still not confident about the ones for you, you can take a paid consultation with us for a small fee.
