Glauberite Mineral Specimen
Glauberite [sodium calcium sulfate, Na2Ca(SO4)2] crystallizes in the monoclinic system as tabular or prismatic, steeply inclined, wedge-shaped, dipyramidal crystals. Glauberite crystals are very soft (Mohs hardness of 2.5-3.0) and unstable and as they dissolve or crumble, they may be altered or replaced by more stable minerals such as gypsum or calcite, thus forming pseudomorphs. Glauberite is popular among collectors for its distinctive crystal shapes and pseudomorphic forms.
These pieces are originally from Bertram Mine, Imperial County, California. We have sourced them from the Tucson Gem and Mineral show, USA 2025.
Glauberite cuts through confusion and encourages clarity of thought and decision-making. It seems to have laser-like energy, piercing through the fog and darkness, thus bringing in lightness and peace. It is thus a great stone for meditation and sharpening connection and clearing the crown chakra.
