Pieces in this collection are sourced directly from international gem shows, including specimens picked up at the Tucson Gem Show, one of the largest mineral shows in the world. Each specimen is checked for authenticity and locality before it's listed.

These specimens currently represent 20 countries, which is a wider spread than most single-source suppliers can offer.
Morocco: The single largest source in this collection, covering Vanadinite, Barite, Hematite, Epidote, Malachite, and Andradite Garnet, among others.
China: Multiple provinces, including Sichuan, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Hunan, Xinjiang, and Guangxi, each known for a different species.
The Americas: Brazil (Rutile Quartz, Elbaite Tourmaline), Peru (Chrysocolla from the Tentadora and Cunyari mines), Mexico, and the United States, with specific localities like Nevada, Arizona, Utah, California, and Wisconsin's Flambeau Mine.
Africa: Madagascar, Congo, Nigeria, and Egypt, alongside the Morocco pieces above.
Everywhere else: Russia (including the Kola Peninsula and Siberia), Kazakhstan, Turkey, Laos, Pakistan, Australia, Argentina, Norway, and Indonesia round out the list.

Caring for Natural Specimens
- Keep water-soluble species like Halite away from moisture entirely, since they can dissolve on contact.
- Some sulfide minerals, including Realgar, are light-sensitive and can change color with prolonged light exposure, so store them away from direct sun.
- Handle matrix specimens by the base rather than the crystal points, since natural terminations chip more easily than a polished piece.
- Dust with a soft, dry brush rather than wiping, particularly on druzy or botryoidal surfaces.
