Obsidian is lustrous volcanic glass and can be found in many colors. Black obsidian is a powerful protective stone that protects the sura from psychic attacks and negative energy. It helps to cut ties and break negative attachments to people who may have been close to you in the past. It is a root chakra stone. It is a grounding stone that helps transmute any excess energy to Mother Earth. It is useful in healing and provides a shield to the healer. When placed in a room or space it transforms the negative energy in that space.
