This Azurite specimen is from from the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, Arizona, USA. Azurite samples from the Copper Queen Mine are considered the global "gold standard" for the species due to their historical impact and unique aesthetic forms. Since the Copper Queen closed in 1975, new specimens are no longer mined. Current availability is limited strictly to "old collections," causing high-quality samples to be very sought after by collectors. This piece exhibits druzy crystalline azurite "roses", along with vibrant soft green malachite. We have sourced it from the Tucson Gem and Mineral show, USA 2023. It weighs approximately 35.4 gms.
