Pink Smithsonite Mineral Specimen
This Pink Smithsonite specimen is from Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico. This is a botryoidal formation of translucent electric-pink smithsonite, which gains its pink color from cobalt. We have sourced it from the Tucson Gem and Mineral show, USA 2023. It weighs approximately 25 gms.
Smithsonite is a zinc carbonate mineral that belongs to the calcite group of crystals. The zinc may be partially replaced by other elements which are responsible for the different color variations in Smithsonite, cobalt in case of pink.
