South Red Agate is a type of chalcedony, a form of microcrystalline quartz, and is known for its stunning red and white coloration. It is primarily found in southern China. Also called Nanhong Agate, it is a rare mineral, often used to make gems and jewelry, which can be quite expensive. South Red Agate has also been referred to as "red jade" in the past.
