Mimetite Mineral Specimen
This beautiful Orange Mimetite Specimen is from the Pintouling Mine, Guangdong, China. It weighs approximately 6.55 grams and comes in a box. Mimetite is a mineral formed in oxidized areas of lead deposits and other places where lead and arsenic are present together and is from the apatite family. Its name comes from the Greek word 'mimetes' which means 'imitator'. It is found in many shades of yellow to orange and brown, and it can also be green or colorless sometimes.
