Getchellite in Orpiment Mineral Specimen
This extremely rare Getchellite in Orpiment specimen is from its type locality at Getchell Mine, Nevada, USA. This specimen features rich red masses of getchellite throughout a yellow orpiment matrix, with a bit of bright red realgar also present. It is a rare sulfide of arsenic and antimony (AsSbS3), discovered and named after the mine. The Getchell Mine, an underground gold mine on the east flank of the Osgood Mountains, was discovered by prospectors Edward Knight and Emmet Chase in 1933. We have sourced it from the Tucson Gem and Mineral show, USA 2024. It weighs 68.45 gms.
Orpiment, the bright yellow to orange-yellow masses, opens and aligns the solar plexus chakra. Orpiment stimulates the intellect and is an excellent crystal to use when engaged in investigative analysis or examinations.
